Open Call: Public Art Commission

Shubbak invites Arab and SWANA artists, audio producers, creative technologists, and multi-disciplinary creatives to apply for a public art commission as part of a youth-led cultural memory archiving project. The selected artist or team will design an interactive public installation in Brent and Westminster that brings community voices to life through sound, image, text, and spatial storytelling. Proposals can be digital, physical, mobile, or hybrid, with a focus on accessibility, inclusivity, and long-term public engagement. The commission includes a £3,000 artist fee and a £2,000 production budget. Applicants should have experience in site-specific storytelling, oral history, and community collaboration. The final work will be showcased in Spring 2026 and documented for Shubbak’s digital archive.
