The Freelancers’ Handbook is a practical set of resources designed to help support the needs of cultural freelancers in their work. It has been created in direct response to the critical priorities identified in Arts Council England’s 2024 Cultural Freelancers Study The Handbook draws on the personal experiences of over 5,000 cultural freelancers. It was written by a cultural freelancer, and includes contributions from a number of other freelancers. While it is intended primarily as an aid for cultural freelancers, its combination of guidance and good practice can also act as a handy reference tool for cultural organisations who commission or work with freelancers.
