Photography, poetry and films exploring migration, identity and belonging, followed by filmmaker Q&A.
Join us for an evening of powerful storytelling through photography, poetry and film as part of the Human Rights Festival 2026.
The event opens with Cristina Cellini Antonini, Co-founder of We Restart – Art Centre of Sanctuary, introducing journalist Carlos Hugo Morales and his book Scapegoats, followed by an introduction to Children of Yemen, a moving photography exhibition by Fuad Al-Gaadi documenting the lives, resilience and hopes of children of Yemen.
We will also present Echoes of the Unspoken, a poetry reading by Seyyid Ali Lrgh, exploring themes of identity, displacement, memory and resilience.
After a short break, the programme continues with a special screening of three acclaimed short films examining migration, belonging and the search for home:
• We Will Return, My Love by Oscar-winner filmmaker Hasan Kattan
• Good Migrants by Yehia Nasr
• Finding Home by Yiwa Lau
The screenings will be followed by a conversation between filmmakers Yiwa Lau, Hasan Kattan and Yehia Nasr, offering insights into their creative journeys and the stories behind their work.
The evening concludes with an audience Q&A, providing an opportunity to engage directly with the filmmakers and explore the themes raised by the films.
This event is part of the Human Rights Festival 2026, a month-long celebration of art, culture and dialogue that brings communities together through stories of courage, identity, human dignity and belonging.
