Upcoming creative events in Brent.
The Canal and River Trust and artist Shanayah Dadral have teamed up, with the support of Absolute Beginners, to offer this collaborative learning and making experience: Over the course of two Sundays, March 22 and March 29, we will work together to construct a working coracle.
These sessions will be focused on the practicalities of making a boat but will also introduce the history and background of coracles in the UK. We want these sessions to bring people onto the canalside (and on the water itself) and so there will also be the opportunity to have a paddle on the Grand Union Canal in the boat we make. This might happen on the second session (depending on how long the making takes) but if needed, we will arrange an additional meet-up to come together and test them out!
